There is strength in numbers.

Really.

I bet you’re waiting for some wise words about community and tribes, and how we support each other so well, amiright?

Well, that’s all true, but it’s the subject of another post.

What I mean is that every part of your business can be measured in numbers, and your familiarity and relentless obsession with your numbers is going to help you build a strong, healthy business.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not professing that you should obsess over your metrics to the detriment of anything else that will move you forward, because that would be nice, right? Stare at some spreadsheets and the numbers suddenly start growing on their own?

Nah, you still gotta do the work, but you might (or might not) be shocked at how many entrepreneurs shy away from numbers and look at me with dread when it comes time in our program to start digging in to the data.

It still remains true that you can’t grow what you can’t measure. Sure, brute force and intuition goes a ways but won’t take you to the promised land.⠀

Look at all the places you can see your business in numbers:

Financials⠀
Email Marketing⠀
Website Traffic⠀
Social Posts⠀
Systems Usage⠀
Engagement⠀
Sales Conversions⠀
Customer Behavior⠀
SEO⠀
Project Management⠀
Engagement

And the list goes on.

So, with all of these numbers available to you, you can start to piece together relationships amongst your data.

How does customer behaviour change when you tweak your email marketing?

How does engagement shift when you use video?

What happens to profitability when I improve my retention rates?

Each piece of data is related to another, and when you’ve started to get stagnant in your business growth, your data often holds the answers to where you need to focus.

So don’t hide from your numbers. Embrace them. They are like a window into the inner workings of your business that lets you more effectively decide on next steps or refine your actions.

Tell me in the comments…

Which numbers do you obsess over in your business? Which numbers would you like to see more of?
